Kep1er responds to disbandment rumors “We’re discussing extending activities + preparing for new album”

On April 25th, a representative from the agency Wake One · Swing Entertainment told Ilgan Sports, “We are currently in discussions with each member and their respective agencies regarding the extension of Kep1er’s project activities.” They also added that Kep1er is currently preparing for a new album.

Earlier, a media outlet reported that Kep1er would disband by the end of July without renewal of contracts. However, with the agency’s statement indicating ongoing discussions, attention is now focused on their future activities.

Kep1er is a project group formed through Mnet’s audition program “Girls Planet 999” with the goal of debuting a joint Korean-Chinese-Japanese girl group. It consists of 9 members: Kim Chae-hyun, Huening Bahiyyih, Choi Yu-jin, Kim Da-yeon, Seo Young-eun, Kang Ye-seo, Hikaru Ezaki, Mashiro Sakamoto and Shen Xiaoting.

Meanwhile, Kep1er is set to release their first Japanese full-length album “Kep1going” on May 8th.
